In 2009, the financial crisis struck, however, in the face of adversity, Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Taiwan Kwang Yang invested 2.5 million USD each, Changzhou Kawasaki and Kwang Yang Engine Co., Ltd (the predecessor of Changzhou Kawasaki Engine Co., Ltd) came into being.
